Dialectus first entered the language version market in 2002, ensuing the growth of Ideas e Letras, a language service provider established in 1992, at a time when private television networks were first emerging in the portuguese market. With the evolution of cable television, there is a growing demand for new services, and Dialectus has been developing areas in order to meet current market demands.
Dialectus delivers translation, voice-over, dubbing and subtitling services for television, cinema, home-video and DVD, taking pride in ensuring high quality, accuracy and efficiency while offering a fast turnaround time, and capacity of handling the entire production process, while ensuring customer loyalty and maintaining our long-held market leadership.
In a constant effort to keep up to date and able to respond efficiently to customer and market demands, as of 2011, Dialectus branched into two new areas: promoting events and animation.
Dialectus works with native speaking translators and proofreaders of various nationalities, as well as technical translators and proofreaders (specialized in medical, pharmaceutical, engineering, computer science, mechanical, etc), professional voice and voice-over actors, equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology and recording equipment, to ensure the efficiency and flexibility needed to meet the demands of a market that is in constant progression.
To ensure continuous client satisfaction, many of whom have been with Dialectus for almost two decades, we have four audio recording studios, four audio-video post-production studios equipped with full Pro Tools HD systems and a WorldNet APT-X ISDN Manager, and a subtitling department with a dedicated Poliscript subtitling system.
Depending on client preference, we deliver the final recordings in various formats, including Digital Betacam, Betacam SP, CD/DVD, and also in the most common audio formats, such as MP3, WAV or HD.
We can transfer electronic files via email and FTP, or connect via ISDN for voiceover. We can also translate and/or subtitle AVI files, which can also be received via FTP, virtually eliminating delivery time and costs.
